From September 2026, Free School meals are changing. The category has expanded and therefore, more children are eligible to be entitled to this. Therefore, if you receive Universal Credit, free school meals will be available to you. However, you must reapply annually to continue receiving Free School Meals.
Pupils who are marked as ‘expanded’ will be entitled to Free School Meals but no additional benefits.
