1 – 7 November was UK Parliament week and we handed over to the pupils. They discussed issues that were important to them and arranged activities for discussing what happens in parliament and democratic processes. The World Class Schools team came up with a question for a referendum: Should the school ban single-use plastics? The children debated the question all week and voted on Friday. The result was then handed back to the school council who will discuss how we can make this change over the year. Our school council also took part in The BIG Debate. A panel of school councillors and WCS representatives along with Mr Done, Mrs Oddy and Mr Boddy.
The council were great, responding maturely and insightfully to the questions.’
