This morning we had the sad task of informing the children of the death of Yusuf Jatta, a pupil in our Nursery.
They were told that Yusuf was tragically killed in a road traffic collision on Saturday afternoon. Sometimes people who are involved in accidents are not badly hurt, but other times people can sadly die.
When someone dies, their family and friends have lots of feelings of sadness, anger, and confusion – these are all normal. The children have been told that their teachers are willing to try and answer their questions at school, along with other adults we have in school to help.
Mr Randall, Miss Wyatt and myself visited Yusuf’s family this morning to offer our condolences and support. Some parents have already asked about sending cards and flowers to the family, we are very happy for you to leave these at school and we will take them to the family.
Yusuf was a bright boy with many friends, and in the brief time that we have known him, he became a well-loved and cherished member of our school community, he will be sadly missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
