Our new Friendly Frogs classroom has been purposefully designed and carefully created to provide a nurturing, engaging environment for the youngest children in our school. Every aspect of the space has been thoughtfully planned to ensure that children feel safe, secure and ready to begin their learning journey with confidence.
Learning within Friendly Frogs is rooted in familiar nursery rhymes and high-quality stories. These well-loved texts provide a comforting and meaningful context for children as they settle into the setting. Through repetition, rhythm and storytelling, children begin to develop early language skills while building a strong sense of belonging within their new classroom community.
Our Nursery 1 curriculum places a strong emphasis on the EYFS Prime Areas: Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, and Physical Development. We recognise that these foundational skills underpin all future learning. Children are supported to form positive relationships, learn how to manage their feelings, and develop confidence in exploring their environment.
The carefully planned provision offers open-ended resources that encourage curiosity and exploration. As children learn how to access and use these resources appropriately, they begin to develop independence, resilience and early problem-solving skills. Adults play a key role in modelling language, supporting children to make choices, extending their play and helping them to sustain engagement. Through this supportive approach, children begin to understand that learning happens through play.
Within Friendly Frogs, we focus on developing strong communication skills, self-regulation, physical control and positive relationships. These core foundations ensure that children are not only ready for the next stage of their education, but are happy, confident and secure learners from the very start.
