Brave Words are currently working with Year 1 in their English lessons to develop their oracy and sentence building skills around their topic of Monarchy.
Brave Word have created a Youth Theatre at Hillcrest, to develop pupil’s performance and ensemble skills as well as working up to a performance. This club has currently got spaces so please contact Miss Doherty if you would like to join.
Year 6 are working with our resident actor Luke Broughton to produce a fantastic adaptation of Matilda for the MYWY Literacy Festival.
Dance
NSCD are offering dance clubs to develop our pupils creativity and movement skills. Most of these clubs are full put please get in touch with main reception or Miss Chappell if you would like your child to join the waiting list.
Summer Performances
This term we are working towards some fantastic showcases of performance which encompass out Drama and Dance lessons. This term Year 2 will create their own Hillcrest Carnival with dance, food and costumes from their learning around the Chapeltown Carnival. Reception will also celebrate their end of year with a Graduation and Year 6 will reminisce about their time at Hillcrest with their Leavers Assembly.
Our resident actor Luke is also be working with some KS2 boys to build confidence and oracy skills to preform at the end of the term to their peers and parents.
We are looking forward to all performances and showcases this term.
NSCD
